Week Ending February 20, 2017

Task
Become familiar with Mimir Wiki and editing.
Review past semesters' work.
Plan
Discover how other textbooks present programming languages in general.
Coordinate with team to better define focus areas.
Results
Learned MediaWiki editing
Finished notes for week 3
Concerns
The team seems to have overlapping focus areas for Chapter Three.

Week Ending February 27, 2017

Task
From minutes: create/fix code blocks and LISP indenting
Plan
Learn more about Lisp through writing functions for HW2.
Compose examples and clean up Chapter 4 Lisp section.
Concerns
Still learning Lisp and having a bit of trouble with the recursive versions of the palindrome functions.
Don't feel confident enough to complete my textbook tasks.
Results
Spent too much time on HW2 and did not complete my task.

Week Ending March 6, 2017

Task
From minutes: Will edit the master format at top level of chapter 3
Still have backlog for Chapter 4 Lisp section.
Plan
Turn on Table of Contents and fix section headers for proper indentation.
Improve Chapter 4 Lisp section.
Concerns
No concern except I told the team I would do it first thing in the morning so as to not get in the way of their edits (because I was going to work on the whole page rather than just one section).
Results
Enabled and created Tables of Contents for Chapters 2, 3, and 4. Added "Back to Table of Contents" links to the main Textbook Index.
Finished early which alleviated my concern above.
Did not get much done with Lisp section.

Week Ending March 20, 2017

Task
From minutes: finish the last two sections of Perl and look over the Perl section in general.
Write the GRC abstract. Submit it to the team for use as a poster primer.
Plan
Add more to Perl and review flow of text.
Write GRC abstract based on introduction in the textbook and discussions with advisor on goals of the book.
Concerns
Will the abstract be late? Our time-frame was "ASAP"
Results
Perl is done.
GRC abstract came out well. Sent it to Nick for review and incorporated his suggestions. No response to submission. Was it too late?
Never heard back from team on progress or results of GRC poster.

Week Ending March 27, 2017

Task
Per meeting minutes, Review chapter 3 and edit as needed, add chapter 5 table of contents
Plan
Dig more into Chapter 3 content and see what can be improved.
Figure out how to get all the "1." out of the table of contents. Straighten up Chapter 5 TOC.
Concerns
I think Nick is doing the same thing in Chapter 3. We didn't quite clear it up. We talked about switching Sections for coverage.
Is anyone going to start on the GRC poster? Or make a plan? I wrote the abstract as my share of the work.
Results
Instead of content/style editing, I performed grammar and spelling checks, so as to minimally impact other team members.
Realigned Table of Contents up to Chapter 5.

Week Ending April 3, 2017

Task
This week's focus is on the GRC poster. I wrote the abstract so the rest of the group is doing the poster.
Plan
Help out where I can on the poster, but I'm going to limit myself to critique/suggestions.
Concerns
I hope the group makes good progress.
Results
So far it seems like there is decent motivation to get it done.
From the group emails it seems slow going.

Week Ending April 10, 2017

Task
From the minutes, review Chapter 6 and come up with a game plan for for the group.
Plan
Do some research on Scratch to see if there's something I didn't learn from the Scratch project.
Discover what's missing in the chapter and make a list.
Concerns
Still concerned with the accomplishment of the GRC poster as our deadline is fast approaching.
Results
Grammar needs a lot of editing. Should be updated to include elements of web-based Scratch 2.
Made some minor editing as I went through Chapter 6.
Implemented the table of contents.
I'm going to suggest or request that I stay on Chapter 6 as it's not a large chapter.

Week Ending April 17, 2017

Task
Per minutes, Working on chapter 6, update table of contents and work on citation method
Plan
Figure out how to make proper citations. Start Table of Contents
Concerns
It will be hard to make citations for the old chapters.
Results
The citation module for Media Wiki is not installed.
<ref> This is the citation markup </ref> followed by <references /> somewhere else of the page.

Week Ending April 24, 2017

Task
This week I was excused from the meeting because I submitted my homework on time.
Plan
Check grammar and spelling for Chapter 6.
Concerns
There might not be enough to do.
Results
I found lots to do since citations cannot be handled efficiently; spelling and grammar can always be improved.
Since the citation module is not installed, I googled suspected passages and paraphrased direct results.

Week Ending May 1, 2017

Task
From minutes: Continue reviewing and editing chapters 5 and 6
Plan
Improve spelling and grammar in Chapters 5 and 6 and make improvements to content where I feel it's needed.
Concerns
None this week.
Results
Accomplished some but not as much as I wanted to.

Week Ending May 8, 2017

Task
From minutes: review and edit new scratch info in Chapter 6.
Plan
When new material is posted by team member, review and edit new Scratch material.
Concerns
Waiting to hear back from team member.
Results
Received the go-ahead yesterday so I will have to make it this coming week's task.
