Notes

Discussed book contents and how to go about the chapters with group. Recommended discussing by language type rather than language (e.g. Have an 'Imperative Languages' chapter instead of a 'Perl' chapter.)

Suggested a group member recommend the localhost -> 127.0.0.1 fix in the configuration file for the MediaWiki server at foss.unh.edu, as this is suspected to be the cause of it being slow.

Comments

I think this could work. Expressed concerns about editing book on someone's personal server if its not backed up (I am assuming foss.unh.edu is backed up, and is not our responsibility if it dies).

Notes

Contributed to discussion regarding the textbook. Looked at a few texts on Amazon myself. The outline that we came up with seems pretty good.

We also discussed meeting every week after class at 8:30PM.

Comments

Glad that the speed issue on foss.unh.edu wiki has been resolved. Looking forward to making progress on the book.

Notes

Discussed the textbook via email. Will fill out my section next week. Sections that have been filled in so far seem to be coming along.

Comments

Not sure what this poster thing we have to do is; this was not discussed previously. Not to thrilled about the way it was disseminated.

Would like Prof. Jonas to update the outline of the lecture notes (what's required of our group) so that I can edit my part of the textbook.

Notes

Worked on graduate research conference poster, which came out very well. Also reviewed another student's Scratch project and recommended making it simpler (there was a lot of complexity added to the code and it could have been made much simpler with broadcasted events)

Notes

Figured out CLISP. It is a frustrating language because everything needs to be exactly perfect.

Comments

Discovered that having a [tab] instead of spaces to indent breaks the code. This was frustrating, as I couldn't figure out what the problem with it was.

Notes

Completed scratch stuff. Decided that it is pretty neat, but you can't do too much with it.

Comments

Less frustrated
